Now even average salons make it a point to provide tanners with sanitizing supplies just in case the tanner wants to touch up a questionable area of the bed.

About the only way to improve bed hygiene in this day and age is to never touch the bed at all. That is where stand-up or vertical beds get their rapidly growing popularity with tanners. The wire mesh or acrylics are barely and rarely touched by the tanner resulting in higher hygiene levels.

Standup beds resemble spray booths - except there is no excess spray lotion being collected beneath your feet and thus no foot rinse required.
